• In 2023, the USA led global LNG exports 11.9 bn
cf/d, a 12% increase from 2022, primarily driven
by strong European demand and record exports
in November and December
• Europe, including Türkiye, was the main
destination for USA LNG, accounting for 66% of
exports, with the Netherlands, France, and the
UK being the largest importers
• Asia received 26% of USA LNG exports, Japan and
South Korea were the top Asian importers, while
new import activities began in the Philippines
and Vietnam in 2023
• LNG import capacity in Europe continued to grow,
with signi昀椀cant expansions in the Netherlands
and new facilities in Germany
